TheMinistry of Interior[1] orMinistry of the Interior[2] orInterior Ministry[3] (Turkish:İçişleri Bakanlığı lit. Ministry of Internal Affairs) is agovernment ministry of the Republic of Turkey, responsible for interior security affairs inTurkey.

The current Minister of the Interior isAli Yerlikaya.[4]

Functions

The ministry is responsible fordisaster and emergency management,immigration,[1] inspection oflocal government,gendarmerie andcoast guard (in peacetime), andpolice. The ministry helps to combathuman trafficking,[5] smuggling[6] andbootleg alcohol.[7]
