TheMilpark Hospital is a private hospital inwestern Parktown,Johannesburg, in the area known asMilpark, and owned byNetcare Limited. It has alevel 1 accreditedtrauma unit, andcardiology and cardio-thoracic services. It has 346 beds, of which 95 are used for high care andintensive care.[1][2] The hospital also houses the onlyGamma Knife unit in South Africa. TheNetcare MilparkLevel One Trauma Centre is the firstprivately owned hospital in South Africa and the most advancedhealthcare facility inSouthern Africa.

Nelson Mandela was treated at the hospital for an acuterespiratory infection in January 2011[3] and underwent a laparoscopy there in February 2012.[4]

In February 2009, South African sprinterOscar Pistorius was treated at the hospital after a serious boating accident.[5]

On 2 April 2018,Winnie Madikizela-Mandela died at the hospital.

On 30 July 2021, Botswanan actorShona Ferguson died at the hospital due toCOVID-19 complications.[6]
