Mill City is anunincorporated community inPershing County,Nevada,United States.[1] TheZIP Code of Mill City is 89418.
Mill City had its start as amining community.[2] The community was named for aquartz mill near the original town site.[3] A post office called Mill City was in operation from 1864 until 1948.[4]
The community is four miles (6.4 km) north ofImlay onInterstate 80. TheHumboldt River is to the northwest and the northern end of theHumboldt Range lies to the east.[5]State Route 400 passes through the town, continuing south towardsUnionville. The Midway truck stop is located in Mill City, offering services to visitors and the dwindling population.[6]
