Michael Gene Mosley (born June 30, 1958) is an American former professionalfootball player who was awide receiver in theNational Football League (NFL).
Mosley starred atHumble High School inHumble, Texas.
He playedquarterback atTexas A&M,[1] where he finished his career 3rd all-time for the Aggies in rushing yards by a quarterback. As a freshman, Mosley replaced an injuredDavid Walker againstTCU and led the Aggies to victory inFort Worth rushing for 96 yards and atouchdown in a 52–23 thrashing of the Horned Frogs. Mosley would not relinquish the job, becoming the Aggies'starting quarterback for the next three seasons.
Mosley was selected as a receiver by theBuffalo Bills in the third round of the1981 NFL draft.[2] During his first season, he was on injured reserve with a pulled hamstring.[2] In his second season he was aspecial teams standout as the team'skick returner.[2]
On October 30, 1983, Mosley came on during the second quarter as a substitute for injured wide receiverJerry Butler, helping the Bills to victory against theNew Orleans Saints with five catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns.[2]
Unfortunately, a series of injuries cut short his promising NFL career and forced Mosley to retire after the1984 season.
