Miguel Ángel Silvestre Rambla (born 6 April 1982) is a Spanish actor. He rose to prominence with his performance as El Duque inSin tetas no hay paraíso.^[1]

He has since played roles in series such asVelvet,Sense8,En el corredor de la muerte,Narcos,30 Coins andSky Rojo.

Miguel Ángel Silvestre Rambla was born inCastellón de la Plana on 6 April 1982.^[2] He is the son of a bank manager and of Miguel Ángel Silvestre Vara, a physiotherapist, who died on 11 December 2018.^[3] He planned on becoming a professional tennis player before suffering an injury to his shoulder in aHungarian tournament. He later decided to studyphysiotherapy until his aunt introduced him to the world of theatre.^[4]

He studieddrama,physical theatre,modern dance andacrobatics before winning theMisterCastelló 2002 pageant.^[5]

Silvestre made his feature film debut in the 2005 dramaLife and Colour.^[6]

He stars in thePedro Almodóvar filmI'm So Excited and in the Spanish horror thrillerVerbo.^[7] He also starred in the Spanish seriesVelvet as Alberto Marquez.

In 2015, the high-profile English-language Netflix dramaSense8 was released, in which Miguel plays one of the lead characters, acloseted action movie star named Lito Rodríguez, who lives inMexico City with his boyfriend, Hernando (played byAlfonso Herrera).^[8]

In 2017, he joined the cast of Netflix seriesNarcos playing recurring character and real life consultant for theCali Cartel, Franklin Jurado.^[9]

In 2018, he acted in the filmIbiza onNetflix, in which he played Manny.^[10]

In 2019 he starred in the Mexican filmLa boda de mi mejor amigo(My best friend's wedding), an adaptation of the1997 film by the same name.^[11] He also starred in the miniseriesEn el corredor de la muerte fromMovistar+.^[12]

In 2020, he starred as one of the protagonists of theHBO blockbuster30 monedas(30 coins), created byÁlex de la Iglesia.^[13]

In 2021, he starred in both seasons of the Netflix seriesSky Rojo, created byÁlex Pina.^[14][15] Also, he confirmed that he had joined the main cast for the fifth season ofLa casa de papel(Money Heist), also created by Álex Pina, which was released globally on Netflix in 2021.^[16] He plays René, Tokio's (Úrsula Corberó) ex-partner.^[17] He also announced his role as the protagonist of the Mexican seriesLos enviados, the first series byViacomCBS together with theArgentinian director andscreenwriterJuan José Campanella.^[18]

The miniseriesWeiss & Morales was filmed in 2024, aprocedural series (in which the episodes are self-contained), in which he played detective Raúl Morales.^[19] The series was released on 23 May 2025 on theLa 1 channel ofTelevisión Española.^[20]
