Mickey and Friends Trick or Treats was officially announced in August 2023.[16] The trailer was released during the same month.[17] The television special premiered on October 1, airing simultaneously onDisney Channel,Disney Junior, andDisney XD.[18][19] It was subsequently made available onDisneyNow.[20] It also began streaming onDisney+ the following day.[21]

On its premiere date,Mickey and Friends Trick or Treats was watched by 95,000 total viewers (P2+) onDisney Channel, earning a 0.03% rating. Among viewers aged 18–49, it attracted 26,400 viewers with a 0.02% rating.[26]
