Michel Cournot (French pronunciation:[miʃɛlkuʁno]; 1 May 1922 – 8 February 2007) was a Frenchjournalist,screenwriter andfilm director. As a writer he was awarded theFénéon Prize in 1949 forMartinique. His only film as a director,Les Gauloises bleues, was due to be entered at the1968 Cannes Film Festival,[1] but the festival was cancelled because of the events ofMay 1968 in France.
He received aGenie Award nomination forBest Original Screenplay at the10th Genie Awards in 1989, as cowriter withClaude Fournier and Marie-José Raymond of the Canadian television miniseriesThe Mills of Power (Les Tisserands du pouvoir).[2]
