Michael Waldron (born April 23, 1987)[1] is an American screenwriter and producer known for his work on television seriesRick and Morty andHeels, creating theMarvel Cinematic Universe seriesLoki, and writingDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).
Waldron graduated from theGrady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at theUniversity of Georgia in 2010. In February 2014, Waldron was enrolled in theMFA screenwriting program atPepperdine University and was an intern for theAdult Swim showRick and Morty during itsfirst season when he was hired by the show's co-creatorDan Harmon to be part of the production staff of Harmon'sNBC seriesCommunity for itsfifth season.[2][3][4] In February 2017, he was writing the seriesHeels forStarz.[5] By August 2017, he was executive producing theYouTube Red seriesGood Game.[6]
In February 2019, he was hired as head writer and executive producer on theDisney+ seriesLoki (2021).[7] In November 2019, after producing severalRick and Morty episodes, Waldron wrote theseason four episode "The Old Man and the Seat".[7] In February 2020, he began writing the script for the filmDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).[8] On October 3, 2022,Deadline Hollywood reported that Waldron would once again be collaborating with Marvel Studios, having been set to scriptAvengers: Secret Wars.[9]
In March 2023, Waldron launched a new feature film and television production company, Anomaly Pictures, with his producing partner Adam Fasullo.[10] In November 2023, Waldron was announced to be the writer ofAvengers: Doomsday.[11] In August 2024, he wrote the comedy seriesChad Powers.[12][13]
