Michael Riley (born February 4, 1962) is a Canadianactor.[1]
From 1998 to 2000, he portrayed Brett Parker inPower Play. Riley has appeared in more than 40 films and television productions, includingThis Is Wonderland, for which he received aGemini Award, and theEmmy-nominatedBBC /Discovery Channel co-productionSupervolcano. He is also known for his role as Dr. Tom in theCBC Television seriesBeing Erica (2009–2011).
Riley was born inLondon, Ontario, and graduated from theNational Theatre School of Canada inMontreal, Quebec in 1984.[1]
As a stage actor, Riley received aDora Mavor Moore Award nomination for his performance as Arkady inGeorge F. Walker’sNothing Sacred (1988).[1] He appeared in the miniseriesRace to Mars and the seriesSt. Urbain's Horseman. He starred in the CBC seriesThis Is Wonderland, and has guest-starred for CBS on series such asCSI: Crime Scene Investigation andFlashpoint.[2]
Riley has earned fiveGemini Awards and an additional six Best Actor Gemini nominations, among other industry accolades.[2] His more recent film appearances includeNormal (directed by Carl Bessai) andMr. Nobody (directed by Jaco Van Dormael).[2] He has also provided the voice for the title character in the animated seriesAce Lightning.[1]
