Michael Farber (born September 1951)[1] is an American author and sports journalist, and was a writer withSports Illustrated from 1994 to 2014.[2] He covered mostlyice hockey andOlympic sports. Before 1994, Farber spent 15 years as a sports columnist for theMontreal Gazette, and previously wrote for theBergen Record, and theSun Bulletin.[3] Farber is a commentator forCJAD 800 AM inMontreal, and onThe Sports Network'sThe Reporters.[3]
Farber grew up inBayonne, New Jersey.[4] He graduated fromRutgers University in 1973, and is aPhi Beta Kappa Society member.[3] He relocated toMontreal in 1979.[2] He won theElmer Ferguson Memorial Award in 2003, and is a member of theHockey Hall of Fame selection committee.[5]
