Methandriol dipropionate (MADP), also known asmethylandrostenediol dipropionate and sold under the brand namesArbolic,Durabolic,Or-Bolic,Probolik, andProtabolin among others, is asynthetic,injectedanabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) and a17α-alkylatedderivative of5-androstenediol.[2][1] It is anandrogen ester – specifically, the C3,17βdipropionateester ofmethandriol (17α-methyl-5-androstenediol) – and acts as aprodrug of methandriol in the body.[2][1] Methandriol dipropionate is administered byintramuscular injection and, relative to methandriol, has an extended duration via this route of several days due to adepot effect afforded by itsester.[1] It was marketed in theUnited States,[2] but is no longer available in this country.[3]
