Montague Merton Barker (20 July 1867 – 12 January 1954) was anEnglish first-classcricketer and internationalfield hockey player.
The son of Montague Cochrane Barker, he was born atPaddington in July 1867. He was educated atRadley College.[1] He toured the West Indies withR. S. Lucas' XI in 1894–95, making his debut infirst-class cricket on the tour againstBarbados atBridgetown. He made seven further first-class appearances on the tour,[2] scoring 94 runs at anaverage of 9.40 and a high score of 30.[3] He later made two first-class appearances for theMarylebone Cricket Club againstLeicestershire in 1895 andDerbyshire in 1896.[2] Outside of cricket, he playedfield hockey as a half-back forEngland, captaining the team in 1898.[4] He died atEpsom Downs in January 1954.
