Meprylcaine (also known asEpirocaine andOracaine) is alocal anesthetic with stimulant properties that is structurally related todimethocaine.[1]
Meprylcaine has a relatively potent inhibitory action on themonoamine transporter and inhibits the reuptake ofdopamine, norepinephrine andserotonin.[2][3]
