By road, the commune is about halfway betweenGeneva (33 km (21 mi)[4]) andAnnecy (25.0 km (15.5 mi)[5]) on the plateau ofBornes. It is separated from the mountainSalève by theLes Usses river valley, which forms its western border. The southern border is defined by the streamGrand Verray.
