Mensa (geology)

Flat-topped prominence with cliff-like edges

Inplanetary geology, amensa/ˈmɛnsə/ (pl.mensae/ˈmɛns/) is a flat-topped prominence with cliff-like edges.[1] The term is derived from theLatin word for table, and has the same root as theSpanish word for table, mesa. Mensa is used in the same manner asmesa is used in the SouthwestUnited States.[2]
