
Tegueste was one of nineGuanche menceyatos (native kingdoms), which ruledTenerife on theCanary Islands before the Castilian conquest.
It occupied the whole extent of the current municipality ofTegueste along with other sites that today are part of the municipality ofSan Cristóbal de La Laguna.
The menceyato's rulers were the Guanche kingsTegueste I,Tegueste II andTeguaco.[1]
