Melevodopa, also known aslevodopa methyl ester (LDME) and sold under the brand nameLevomet, is adopaminergic agent. It is themethylester oflevodopa.[1] It is used inoraltablet form as an effervescentprodrug with 250 times thewater solubility of tablet levodopa.[2][3] Incombination withcarbidopa, asmelevodopa/carbidopa (brand nameSirio), it is approved for use in the treatment ofParkinson's disease.[4][5]
