Ancient Lycian town

Melanippe (Ancient Greek:Μελανίππη), orMelanippium orMelanippion (Μελανίππιον), was a small town on the coast ofancient Lycia, on the western slope of Mount Phoenicus, about 30stadia fromCape Hieron, and 60 stadia south ofGagae, of whichWilliam Martin Leake wrote it was the port town.[1]

The site is on theKaraöz Limanı.[2][3]
