Meinhard Miegel (born 23 April 1939 in Vienna) is a German political scientist. He is known for his work on the conditions of the economy and society. He co-founded theInstitut für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft withKurt Biedenkopf in 1977, and served as a Professor at theUniversity of Leipzig from 1992. He became a member of theEuropean Academy of Sciences and Arts in 1994, received theCorine Literature Prize in 2002, theHanns Martin Schleyer Prize in 2004[1] and theTheodor Heuss Prize in 2005.
