Mehdi Azaiez (born 1974) is a FrenchQuranic studies scholar and professor of Islamic studies at theCatholic University of Louvain,Belgium.^[1] He is also a visiting professor at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies atKatholieke Universiteit Leuven.^[2]

Mehdi Azaiez was born inParis in 1974.^[2] He served as an assistant professor ofIslamic theology atKatholieke Universiteit Leuven between 2014 and 2019. Before that, during 2012–2013, he taught Islamic studies and co-directed the international Qur’ân Seminar project at theUniversity of Notre Dame inIndiana,United States. From 2013, he has been a member of the Publications and Research Committee for the International Quranic Studies Association. He also founded and edits the websiteQuran and Early Islam, which focuses on Quranic studies.^[3]
