Maximus Air is acargo airline based atAbu Dhabi International Airport in theUnited Arab Emirates.[1]
The airline was established in 2004 asExperts Air Cargo and was renamed in 2006.[1]
In 2011, it announced the purchase of threeAirbus A300-600 previously operated byJapan Airlines for freighter conversion byEADS EFW inDresden, Germany.[citation needed] However, the entire fleet of then overall five Airbus A300 freighters was subsequently grounded in 2015 stating an insufficient cost basis to keep them operating.[4]
Maximus Air operates cargo services across theMiddle East, Europe,Africa andAsia.[citation needed] The airline formerly ran regular scheduled cargo services on behalf ofEtihad Cargo.[citation needed]
It also has been appointed as an air relief support partner of theRed Crescent of theUAE.[2] In 2017, the airline additionally signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates.[5]
