Maximilian Pircher (born September 7, 1999) is an Italian professionalAmerican footballoffensive tackle. Pircher's pro football career began in 2019 with theSwarco Raiders Tirol in theAustrian Football League (AFL). He played right tackle, eventually winning the 2019Central European Football League (CEFL) and the 2019Austrian Bowl (AFL) championships with the Raiders.
In May 2021, theLos Angeles Rams signed Pircher as part of the NFL'sInternational Player Pathway Program, making him the second member of theTirol Raiders to join the NFL through the pathway program afterSandro Platzgummer.[2] Pircher was a member of the Ram'spractice squad for two seasons, including their victory inSuper Bowl LVI, making Pircher aSuper Bowl champion.[3]
On May 29, 2023, Pircher was signed by theDetroit Lions as part of the 2023 International Player Pathway Program.[4] He was released on August 29 during final roster cuts and signed to the practice squad the next day.[5] He was not signed to a reserve/future contract after the season and thus became a free agent when his practice squad contract expired.[6]
On April 9, 2024, Pircher was signed by theSeattle Seahawks.[7] He was waived on August 27, and re-signed to the practice squad, but was released a few days later.[8][9][10]
Pircher was signed to theWashington Commanders' practice squad on January 1, 2025.[11] He was released on January 7 and re-signed the following day.[12][13]
