Maximilian Bradley Fewtrell (born 29 July 1999) is aBritish former racing driver and current content creator.[1] He was the2016 British F4 champion. Fewtrell has since retired from professional racing.[2][3]

Fewtrell was born inBirmingham. At a young age, he moved to Malaysia first, then Singapore for 9 years. He also has an older brother, Sam, a younger brother, Theo, and an older sister Francesca.

Racing career

Karting

Max began karting in 2009 at the age of ten after watching the Singapore Grand Prix. Fewtrell karted in Singapore but competed mainly in Malaysia.[4] He went on to take major karting titles in 2013 and 2014.[citation needed]

Lower Formula

In 2015, Fewtrell graduated to single-seaters, partaking in theMRF Challenge where he finished eleventh. The following year, Fewtrell joinedCarlin for a campaign inBritish F4.[5] He took three victories and claimed the championship in the final race atBrands Hatch.[6]

Formula Renault

In December 2016, Fewtrell was named as part ofTech 1 Racing's driver line-up for the2017seasons ofFormula Renault 2.0.[7] Around the same time, Fewtrell was named as part of theRenault Sport Academy's 2017 line-up.[8] He won a race at theRed Bull Ring on his way to the rookies' title, and came sixth in the drivers' championship.[9][10]

Thefollowing year, Fewtrell switched to reigning team championsR-ace GP.[11] He achieved six poles and six wins, including a double victory across a two race weekend atHockenheim, making him the first driver to do so sinceNyck de Vries. Fewtrell claimed the championship title in the season finale after a season-long battle with fellow Renault juniorChristian Lundgaard.[12][13]

GP3 Series

After winning the 2018 Formula Renault Eurocup, Fewtrell partook in the post-season test withART Grand Prix.[14]

FIA Formula 3 Championship

In January 2019, Fewtrell joined the championship withART Grand Prix, alongsideChristian Lundgaard andDavid Beckmann.[15] He finished on the podium twice, firstin Austria and then again atthe Hungaroring, both being second-place finishes. Fewtrell concluded his debut season in 10th place, after scoring 57 points.

Fewtrell subsequently joined Hitech GP for the2020 season. He left the team in August 2020.[16]

Other ventures

Fewtrell has gained over 150,000 followers on thestreaming platformTwitch, where he playsFPS games such asEscape from Tarkov andCall of Duty or races iniRacing on a simulator alongside fellow streamers and occasionally with his close friendLando Norris, who currently races inFormula One. He took part in Norris'Twitch Rivals Charity Tournament in 2021.[17] After appearing in some earlier content, on 13 June 2021, Fewtrell was announced as a new ambassador and core member of Norris' entertainment, athlete and apparel brand, Team Quadrant.[18] He is frequently featured on Team Quadrant's YouTube videos and the team's other social media platforms, as well as merchandise campaigns.

He launched his own merchandise line calledFewtrell Fits in December 2020. The line has since been discontinued.[citation needed]

During theGoodwood Festival Of Speed in 2022, Fewtrell took part in two sessions of the hill climb withVeloce Racing'sExtreme E car, theSpark Odyssey 21, alongside three-timeW Series championJamie Chadwick.[19]
