Mawlana (/mɔːˈlɑːnə/; fromPersian,Arabic:مولانا), also spelled asMolana orMaulana,[1] is a title, mostly inSouth Asia, preceding the name of respectedMuslim religious leaders, in particular graduates of religious institutions, e.g. amadrassa or adarul uloom, or scholars who have studied under other Islamic scholars.[1]
