Matt Veldman (born August 12, 1988) is a formerAmerican footballtight end. He was signed by theJacksonville Jaguars as anundrafted free agent in 2012. He playedcollege football atNorth Dakota State. His younger brother Michael Veldman is the former quarterback for Gustavus Adolphus College.
Veldman signed with theJacksonville Jaguars following the2012 NFL draft as a rookie free agent.[1] He spent the entire 2012 season oninjured reserve. On June 11, 2013, he was released to make room on the roster for QBMike Kafka.
Veldman signed with theDetroit Lions on June 17, 2013. He played in one career NFL game.[2] He was released from the Lions on August 27, 2013. After spending time on theTampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad, Veldman re-signed with the Lions practice squad on December 19, 2013.[3]
Veldman was signed by theWashington Redskins on August 14, 2014.[4] The Redskins waived Veldman on August 26, 2014.[5]
