Massimo Moreno Savić (6 June 1962 – 23 December 2022), also known simply asMassimo, was aCroatian pop singer.
Savić was born inPula. His father Sergio was from Banjevci,Municipality of Stankovci, nearLake Vrana.[5] His mother Elda (née Klapčić) was anItalian fromNedešćina.[6][7]
He first became popular in the 1980s with his bandDorian Gray, and then soon embarked on a successful solo career.[8][9] He won fivePorin awards for best male vocal performance, 2004–2007, and in 2012.[10]
In 2013, Massimo's thirty-year anniversary concert sold out thePula Arena. It featuredVlado Kreslin,Neno Belan, andNina Badrić as guests, and was also broadcast live by theCroatian Radiotelevision.[11] He was one of the judges on thesecond series ofX Factor Adria.[12]
Massimo died from lung cancer atSisters of Charity Hospital inZagreb on 23 December 2022, at the age of 60.[1][13][14] He was buried at theZadar City Cemetery on 3 January 2023.[1]
