Masi orMaci orMacy (HokkienChinese:麻糍;Pe̍h-ōe-jī:môa-chî;MandarinChinese:麻糍;pinyin:mácí) is a dish ofglutinous rice balls with apeanut andmuscovado filling fromCebu,Philippines. It is made from sweetenedgalapong (ground-soakedglutinous rice) shaped into little balls with a filling of chopped roasted peanuts andmuscovado orbrown sugar. It is then boiled in water until it floats. It can also be steamed. It is traditionally sold wrapped inbanana leaves.[1][2][3][4]Masi can be modified to use different fillings, likechocolate orpeanut butter.[5]Coconut milk may also be used to give the dough a creamier flavor.[3]

Masi is sometimes anglicized aspeanut rice balls.[2]Masi is related to theTagalogmache and theKapampanganmoche, which are prepared similarly.[6]
