Marvdasht County (Persian:شهرستان مرودشت) is inFars province, Iran. Its capital is the city ofMarvdasht.[3]

History

After the 2006 National Census, the village of Kushkak rose to city status asRamjerd.[4]Kamfiruz-e Shomali Rural District was separated fromKamfiruz District in the formation ofKor District,[a] which was divided into two rural districts, including the newGarmeh Rural District.[6]

After the 2011 census, the village ofKhaniman was elevated to the status of a city.[7] After the 2016 census, the villages ofFaruq,[8]Fathabad,[9] andZangiabad[10] became cities.

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 294,621 in 69,244 households.[11] The following census in 2011 counted 307,492 people in 83,641 households.[12] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 323,434 in 94,699 households.[2]
