Marudapandy Rameshwaran (born 26 December 1976) is aSri Lankan politician, former provincial minister andMember of Parliament.[1]
Rameshwaran was born on 26 December 1976.[1] He was treasurer and deputy president of theCeylon Workers' Congress.[2] He was a member of theCentral Provincial Council and held several provincial ministerial portfolios.[2] He was arrested in December 2017 in connection with an assault on aNational Union of Workers supporter at a funeral inMaskeliya and later released onbail.[3][4][5]
Rameshwaran contested the2020 parliamentary election as aSri Lanka People's Freedom Allianceelectoral alliance candidate inNuwara Eliya District and was elected to theParliament of Sri Lanka.[6][7][8]
