Martinas Geben (born October 20, 1994) is a Lithuanian professionalbasketball player forBàsquet Girona of theLiga ACB, on loan fromCedevita Olimpija. He previously attended and played college basketball in theUniversity of Notre Dame.
Geben played four seasons at theUniversity of Notre Dame. He was primarily used as a backup in his first two seasons for the Fighting Irish, and became a starter in his senior year. As a senior, he averaged 11.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
On 28 June 2018, Geben signed a three-year (2+1) contract with the Lithuanian championsŽalgiris Kaunas.[1][2]
On 11 September 2018, Geben was loaned to theJuventus Utena of theLithuanian Basketball League.[3] After averaging 11.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks during the2018–19 LKL season, he received theLKL Most Valuable Player Award.[4]
On 29 July 2021, Geben signed withBrose Bamberg of theBasketball Bundesliga (BBL).[5]
On 20 September 2022, Geben signed a two-month deal withSkyliners Frankfurt of theBasketball Bundesliga.[6] He averaged 14.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists in six BBL games played.
On 11 December 2022, Geben signed withBaxi Manresa of theLiga ACB for the rest of the 2022–23 season.[7] On 27 June 2023, he renewed his contract for an additional year.[8]
On 21 June 2024, Geben signed a two-year contract withCedevita Olimpija of theABA League and theSlovenian League.[9]
In December 2024, Geben was loaned toBàsquet Girona until the end of the season, returning to theLiga ACB after his previous stint atBàsquet Manresa.[10]
Geben won bronze medal while representing theLithuania men's national under-19 basketball team during the2013 FIBA Under-19 World Championship.[11] Geben won a gold medal at the2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei as part of the Lithuanian student national team with an 85–74 win over the United States.[12]
