Martin Rhodes is a ScottishLabour Party politician who has been Member of Parliament forGlasgow North since 2024.[1]

Rhodes previously served as aScottish Labour Councillor in the wards ofMaryhill/Kelvin (2012 to 2017) andPartick East/Kelvindale (2017 to 2022) onGlasgow City Council. He was an Executive Member in the previous Labour Administration and also served as the Glasgow Labour Group's Spokesperson for Communities.[2]

He was elected an honorary president of LGBT+ Labour Scotland in February 2020.[3][4]

Rhodes was the chief executive officer of theScottish Fairtrade Forum, a charity which campaigns for ethical trade.[5] He resigned from this role following his election as an MP.[6]

He made hismaiden speech in theHouse of Commons on the 30 July 2024 during the debate on the Budget Responsibility Bill.[7] He is a member of theEnvironmental Audit Select Committee.[8]
