Markarian 50 is a youngopen cluster in theMilky Way galaxy. Located at about 3,460pc away in the constellationCassiopeia,[2] its age is estimated at only about 7.5 million years old. Markarian 50 may be a member of theOB associationCassiopeia OB2.[2] TheWolf-Rayet star WR 157 is a member of Markarian 50.[3]
