Mark McGregor Shelton (born November 8, 1956) is an American physician working as apediatrician at the Cook Children's Medical Center inFort Worth,Texas. He previously served as aRepublican member of theTexas House of Representatives.[1] From 2009 to 2013, he representedHouse District 97 inTarrant County.[2] He is a graduate of Arlington'sLamar High School, and received a BS fromBaylor University.[3] Shelton completed his medical studies at theTexas A&M University College of Medicine.[3]
Shelton grew up inArlington, Texas.[3] Part of a family of Scouters,[4] he earned the rank ofEagle Scout.[1]
Shelton has served as the director of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Program at theCook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, since 1988.[5]
He has been involved in the community. He has served as a volunteer with theLonghorn Council of the Boy Scouts, the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth,[3] and board member of the Lena Pope Home.[6]
