Mark Bibbins (born 1968 inAlbany, New York) is anAmericanpoet and received an MFA fromThe New School.
He received aLambda Literary Award for his collection of poemsSky Lounge (Graywolf Press, 2003), and was awarded a 2005 Poetry Fellowship from theNew York Foundation for the Arts.
His 2020 book,13th Balloon, is a book-length poem addressing the AIDS crisis of the 1980s and ’90s.[1]
His 2014 book of poetry,They Don't Kill You Because They're Hungry, They Kill You Because They're Full[2] (Copper Canyon Press, 2014), examines power, sexuality, and gender.
He currently teaches in the graduate writing programs atThe New School, where he co-founded LIT magazine, andColumbia University. He lives in New York.
