Mario Nicasio Zanabria (born 1 October 1948 inSanta Fe) is an Argentine formerfootball player, who played as amidfielder.He was inArgentina'ssquad for the1975 Copa America.[1]
Aplaymaker, Zanabria made his début in the first division in 1967 withUnión de Santa Fe, where he played until 1969.From 1970 to 1975 he excelled withNewell's Old Boys, winning theMetropolitano in 1974. He then moved toBoca Juniors, where he would play until 1980, and then again in 1982, winning the 1976Nacional andMetropolitano, the 1977 and 1978Copa Libertadores de América and 1978Intercontinental Cup under coachToto Lorenzo. Wearing the #10 jersey, he played a total of 179 matches in all competitions with Boca, scoring 16 goals. In 1981, he played forArgentinos Juniors, and forHuracán in 1983 before retiring.
After retirement he coached several teams, including Boca Juniors (1986),Club Atlas (1992–1993), Newell's Old Boys (1997), Unión de Santa Fe (1998),Lanús (1999),Talleres de Córdoba (2001),Querétaro F.C. (2002) andVélez Sársfield (2004) andReal España (2008 and 2010).[2][3]
