Margaret Ellen Nightingale (born 1972) is an Australian politician who has been theLabor Party member forInala in theLegislative Assembly of Queensland since the2024 Inala state by-election.[1]
Nightingale was born at theRoyal Brisbane and Women's Hospital inBrisbane, Queensland, Australia in 1972. She grew up in suburbanInala, attended school locally and raised her family in that community.[2]
Before being elected, Nightingale was a nurse and a teacher.[3] She was also a policy adviser to Queensland treasurerCameron Dick.[4]
Nightingale was elected in the2024 Inala state by-election, to succeed former premierAnnastacia Palaszczuk.[1]
Nightingale was re-elected in the2024 Queensland state election.[5]
