Marganell (Catalan pronunciation:[məɾɣəˈneʎ]) is amunicipality in thecomarca of theBages inCatalonia, Spain. It is situated on the northern slopes ofMontserrat, and is also known asSanta Cecília de Montserrat (Catalan:[ˈsantəsəˈsiliəðəmunsəˈrat]) in reference to theBenedictinemonasteries (SeeSanta Cecília de Montserrat andMontserrat monastery). Theagriculture in the municipality is mostly ofcereals, and the majority of theactive population works elsewhere (until recently, in thecotton mills ofCastellbell i el Vilar).
