Marcone Amaral Costa Jr. (born 5 April 1978), known asMarcone, is a formerfootballer. Born in Brazil, he represented Qatar at international level.
Born inPoções, Bahia, Marcone started his career inSalvador. He made hisSérie A debut in the 1997 season, and played 10 games. After played for the team at1998 Copa do Brasil and 1998Campeonato Baiano, he was signed by Italian clubA.C. Venezia along withBilica andTácio,[1] however at that timeItalian Football Federation imposed a quota on how many non-EU player that a team to keep and field them, thus Marcone was loaned to Swiss sideBellinzona.[2]
He then returned to Vitória and played in1999 Copa do Brasil and1999 Campeonato Baiano. He left the club before the start of1999 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. He returned to the team forCopa João Havelange. After played for the team at2001 Copa do Brasil and2001 Campeonato Baiano, he was transferred toVila Nova of2001 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B.
In 2003, he left forEstrela do Norte. After played forUnião Barbarense at2004 Copa do Brasil and 2004Campeonato Paulista, he left forMarília.[3] He played 4 games in2004 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B,[4] all as substitutes.
In July 2004 he left forQatari sideAl-Shamal.[4] He then left forAl-Gharafa. He only played twice in2010 AFC Champions League, on group stage match 6 and the succeeding round of 16 match.
In July 2011, it was announced on theQFA website that Marcone had leftAl-Gharafa to join the recently promotedEl Jaish.[5]

Marcone played for Qatar after lived for the county for more than 2 years (FIFA requirement). He played 9 games in2010 FIFA World Cup qualification.
