Marc Gual Huguet (born 13 March 1996) is a Spanish professionalfootballer who plays as aforward for Polish clubLegia Warsaw.
Born inBadalona,Barcelona,Catalonia, Gual representedCF Badalona andFC Barcelona as a youth before joiningRCD Espanyol's youth categories in 2013. He made his debut forthe reserves on 4 October 2015, starting in a 1–1 home draw againstValencia CF Mestalla in theSegunda División B.[1]
Gual scored his first goal as a senior on 3 January 2016, his team's first in a 2–2 away draw againstVillarreal CF B.[2] On 12 March, he scored a brace in a 4–0 home routing ofCD Olímpic de Xàtiva.[3]
On 9 November 2016, Gual signed a three-year contract with anotherreserve team,Sevilla Atlético inSegunda División, mainly as a replacement to injuredCarlos Fernández andMaryan Shved.[4] He made his professional debut ten days later, starting and scoring his team's second in a 2–2 away draw againstRCD Mallorca.[5] Gual scored a brace in a 2–3 away loss againstElche CF on 9 April, and a week later, he scored ahat-trick in a 6–2 home rout ofReal Valladolid to take his tally up to eight.[6]
Gual was loaned to fellow second division sideReal Zaragoza, for one year, on 9 August 2018.[7]
On 28 June of the following year, he joinedfreshly relegated sideGirona FC also in a temporary deal.[8]
On 30 January 2020, Gual moved toReal Madrid Castilla on loan for the remaining part ofthe season.[9] On 1 September, he agreed to a permanent two-year contract withAD Alcorcón in the second division.[10]
Gual terminated his contract with Alcorcón on 7 January 2022.[11] He then signed withUkrainian Premier League clubSC Dnipro-1 on a deal until the summer of 2024.[12] Only 42 days on from his signing, and before the resumption of theUkrainian season after the winter break, the league was suspended due to theRussian invasion and he escaped the country.[13]
FIFA suspended the contracts of all foreign players and coaches affiliated with theUkrainian Association of Football on 7 March 2022.[14]
Sixteen days later, Gual joined PolishEkstraklasa sideJagiellonia Białystok until the end ofthe season.[15] On his debut on 3 April, he scored the winner in the seventh minute of added time in a 2–1 home victory overZagłębie Lubin.[16] On 28 June, his loan was extended for another year.[17]
On 11 May 2023, Gual signed a three-year deal with thePolish Cup holdersLegia Warsaw, effective from 1 July.[18] On 7 November 2024, Gual scored 2 goals in a 4-0 victory overDinamo-Minsk in aUEFA Conference League game.[19]
