TheManus monarch (Symposiachrus infelix), also called theAdmiralty Islands monarch, theAdmiralty monarch, theAdmiralty pied monarch, thesomber monarch and theunhappy monarch, is a species ofbird in the familyMonarchidae. It isendemic to theAdmiralty Islands ofPapua New Guinea.
Its naturalhabitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowlandforests and subtropical or tropical mangrove forests.It is threatened byhabitat loss.
The Manus monarch was originally placed in the genusMonarcha until moved toSymposiachrus in 2009.[2]
