TheMamund (orMamond) (Urdu:ماموند,Pashto:ماموند) is aPashtun clan which is a part of the largerTarkani tribe. The clan is located principally in theWatelai Valley (also known asMamund Valley),Bajaur, but also owns villages on both sides of theDurand Line. Majority of the Mamund Pashtuns live inMamund Tehsil,Loi Mamund Tehsil andWara Mamund Tehsil,Bajaur,Khyber Pukhtunkhwa,Pakistan and in Marawara, Asadabad, Shigal, Watapur and Ghazi Abad Districts ofKunar Province in Afghanistan.[1][need quotation to verify]
