TheMampuram Mosque, also known as theMampuram Maqam and theTharammal Masjid, is aSunnimosque anddargah complex, located inTirurangadi, in theMalappuram district of the state ofKerala, India.

Overview

The mosque was built in theKerala-Islamic traditionalVastu shastra architectural style; and was extensively remodelled in 2004, maintaining its traditional style.[citation needed]

The dargah contains the grave ofSayyid Alavi Thangal and is apilgrim centre of Sunni Muslims of Kerala; with approximately 5,000 visitors each day.[1][2][3][4] A Swalath Majlis is conducted every Thursday at the dargah.[4]

The Kaliyattakkavu Devi Temple, aHindu temple, is located nearby, together with several other mosques, including the Muttichira Maqam, 6.3 kilometres (3.9 mi) away, the Kodinji Masjid, 7.2 kilometres (4.5 mi) away, and the Thirurangadi Juma Masjid, on the other side of theKadalundipuzha River.[5][6]

AnUroos is conducted from the first to the seventh ofMuharram every year.[7]
