Mami Koyama (小山 茉美,Koyama Mami; born January 17, 1955) is a Japanese actress,voice actress and narrator affiliated withAoni Production.[1][2] Her best-known voice roles includeOphiuchus Shaina inSaint Seiya,Arale Norimaki inDr. Slump, Minky Momo inMagical Princess Minky Momo,Lunch inDragon Ball,Kaguya Ōtsutsuki inNaruto: Shippuden, Korosuke inKiteretsu Daihyakka,Ryoko Mendo inUrusei Yatsura, andCharlotte Linlin (Big Mom) inOne Piece,Vermouth inDetective Conan. Some of her notable roles in the 1990s and 2000s anime include Balalaika inBlack Lagoon, Talia Gladys inGundam Seed Destiny, Eva Heinemann inMonster, and Yōko Itoigawa inHyōka.[3] In feature films, she voiced Kei inAkira, and the adult Chiyoko Fujiwara inMillennium Actress.

Biography

Mami Koyama was born inNishio inAichi Prefecture on January 17, 1955. She studied at bothAichi Konan College and atHunter College for a short period, although did not graduate. In 1975, she earned a regular role as an actress in the TV drama "Kiyoko wa Naku Mon ka" (Kiyoko never cries). She moved to Tokyo and at the suggestion of a friend tried switching to voice acting, and earned a role in the 1975 showIkkyū-san. She became affiliated withAoni Production as her agency. She married fellow voice actorTōru Furuya in 1976; the two had been coworkers atNHK Nagoya radio. The couple would divorce in 1983.[4]

Koyama scaled back her voice acting activities in 1990, taking a long break and taking fewer roles afterward.
