Mamarumo Marokane (born 15 August 1996) is a South African actor and presenter. She known for her appearances inShadow andMTV Shuga.

Early life

Marokane was born intafelkopLimpopo province.[1] She studied atCityVarsity School of Media and Creative Arts. She can speak English,Sepedi andSetswana.[2]

Career

Since 2021, she has been playing the leading character of Bridget (also known as Vuvu) on the South African soap operaScandal!.Marokane gained prominence through her appearances in the Netflix seriesShadow.[3]

In February 2020, Marokane was named one of four rising stars byCosmopolitan South Africa.[1] The others who appeared wereShonisani Masutha,Ama Qamata andKuhle Adams.[4]

She joinedMTV Shuga Alone Together highlighting the problems ofCoronavirus on 20 April 2020.[5][6]

In 2023 she was part of the Netflix seriesMiseducation.[7] The college drama was very popular in South Africa.[8]
