Maksim Sergeyevich Maksimov (Russian:Максим Сергеевич Максимов; born 4 November 1995) is a Russianfootball player who plays as acentre-forward forTorpedo Moscow.
He started his professional career in Lithuania withAtlantas. After moving toRiteriai (known as FK Trakai at the time), he scored 7 goals in 6 games in theEuropa League qualifiers, helping his club eliminate Scottish clubSt Johnstone and SwedishIFK Norrköping. Shortly after he transferred to Macedonian clubVardar. After a long investigation, on 27 May 2019FIFA banned Maksimov from playing for 4 months andVardar from acquiring new players for two transfer windows due to irregularities with his transfer.[1]
On 28 August 2019 he signed a 2-year contract withRussian Football National League clubTorpedo Moscow.[2]
He made his professional debut in the Russian Football National League for Torpedo on 29 September 2019 in a game againstNeftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. He started the game and was substituted at half-time.[3] He scored his first Torpedo goal on 12 October 2019, a late winning goal in a 3–2 victory overSpartak-2 Moscow. On 26 November 2019, his contract was dissolved by mutual consent.[4]
On 21 August 2020, he was on trials withSerbian SuperLiga sideNapredak Kruševac.[5]
Maksimov made hisRussian Premier League debut forFakel Voronezh on 17 July 2022 againstKrasnodar.[6]
On 30 May 2024, Maksimov left Fakel as his contract expired.[7]
