Makowskia is anextinctgenus ofdiscosauriscidseymouriamorph known from the earlyPermian (lowerSaxonian age) ofBoskovice Furrow, in theCzech Republic.[1] It was first named byJozef Klembara in 2005 and the type species isMakowskia laticephala. Thegeneric name honorsAlexander Makowsky for describing the first specimens of discosauriscids from the Boskovice Furrow, and thespecific name means “broad” (latus inLatin) + “head” (kefalé inGreek).Makowskia is known only from one specimen, theholotype SNMZ 26506, askull and anterior portion of postcranialskeleton.[1] A phylogenetic analysis placesMakowskia as the sister taxon toSpinarerpeton.[2]
