Mahe Vailanu (born 10 January 1997) is aTongan Australianrugby union player who plays for theNSW Waratahs inSuper Rugby Pacific.
He previously played for theRebels in theSuper Rugby competition.[3] His position of choice ishooker.
Vailanu started his Australian career in Melbourne, with the Harlequins Rugby club, winning the 2017 Dewar Shield for the season.
Since 2018, Vailanu has played under head coachDarren Coleman.[4]He followed Coleman from theWarringah Rats to theGordon Highlanders in 2019, then to theLA Giltinis in 2021 andNSW Waratahs in 2022, having won premierships with the Rats, Highlanders and Giltinis.

Vailanu was born in Tonga before heading to New Zealand when he was 14 after being offered a rugby scholarship at the prestige Auckland Grammar School.
