Maharashtri Konkani orKonkan Marathi, is a group ofMarathi-Konkani dialects, spoken in theKonkan, that differ from Marathi.[2][3]George Abraham Grierson, aBritish Indian linguist of the colonial era referred to these dialects as theKonkan Standard of Marathi in order to differentiate it inside theKonkani language group.[4]
