Administrative district of Serbia
TheMačva District (Serbian:Мачвански округ,romanized: Mačvanski okrug,pronounced[mǎtʃʋanskiːôkruːɡ]) is one ofadministrative districts ofSerbia. It lies in the western part of Serbia, in the geographical regions ofMačva,Podrinje,Posavina, andPocerina. According to the 2022 census, it has a population of 265,377 inhabitants. The administrative center of the Mačva District is the city ofŠabac.
The present-day administrative districts (including Mačva District) were established in 1992 by the decree of theGovernment of Serbia.
