ML2-SA1 (EVP-22) is a chemical compound which acts as an "agonist" (i.e. channel opener) for theTRPML2 calcium channel, with high selectivity for TRPML2 and no significant activity at the relatedTRPML1 andTRPML3 channels. It has been used to demonstrate the role of TRPM2 inimmune system function, both triggering release of thechemokineCCL2 frommacrophages and stimulating macrophage migration and endolysosomal trafficking.[1][2]
